Manhattan Edit Workshop Starts 2018 by transitioning to Premiere Pro & Avid Media Composer for its Six Week Intensive Editing Workshop

Manhattan Edit Workshop (MEWShop), the cutting-edge, digital-training destination for post-production and content creators, has transitioned its acclaimed Six Week Intensive Workshop to include Premiere Pro, Avid Media Composer and After Effects.  Following industry trends, MEWShop will be migrating the course from including Apple® Final Cut Pro® to Adobe® Premiere® Pro. In addition, the Six Week Intensive offers training in Adobe® After Effects and Avid Media Composer as well as daily lessons in film theory and aesthetics. In this class students not only learn how to use the leading industry tools, but the key decision making process that leads to great storytelling.

ICA DaVinci Resolve Workshops Return to MEWShop!

Manhattan Edit Workhsop has just announced new dates for our DaVinci Resolve workshops, which will be taught by Warren Eagles, professional color grader and co-founder of the International Colorist Academy (ICA). Touted as the color grading system of choice for many of Hollywood’s blockbuster production studios, DaVinci Resolve 14 was announced at NAB this year to much excitement over its expanded set of editing features among many other upgrades.

Carol Littleton's body of work as an editor spans several decades and genres, from the 1970s to the present. In Captain Fantastic, Viggo Mortensen plays a survivalist father raising a brood of six kids off the grid in the forests of the Pacific Northwest, whose life is thrown into disarray after his wife commits suicide. The film, written and directed by veteran character actor Matt Ross (Silicon Valley, Big Love) earned major praise at Sundance and Cannes, and for good reason: it's by turns intense, funny, and genuinely moving. Behind the Cinematography of the Oscar-Nominated Documentary "Cartel Land"

Cinematographer Matt Porwoll is based in New York City. His most recent work, Cartel Land, was nominated for a 2016 Academy Award for Best Documentary (feature). Cartel Land was also selected for competition at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival and subsequently went on to win the US Documentary Prize for Cinematography. He was one of three speakers on the documentary panel at MEWShop's "Sight, Sound & Story: The Art of Cinematography," 2015 event.
